該儀器適用于按GB/T 50123-1999《土工試驗方法標準》、JTJ 051-93《公路土工試驗規程》等標準中制作土工試樣時手工擊實之用（試樣用于承載比試驗，回彈模量試驗等），擊實儀分輕型和重型兩種，輕型擊實適用于粒徑≤5mm的粘性土，重型擊實適用于粒徑≤20mm的土，采用三層擊實時，A大粒徑≤40mm。

三、使用說明：
★將擊實儀放在堅實地面上，取制備好的試樣600～800g倒入筒內，整平其表面，并用圓木板稍加壓緊，然后按附表4.1規定的擊實次數進行擊實。擊實時擊錘應自由鉛直落下，落高也按附表4.1調試正確，錘跡必須均勻分布于土面。然后安裝套環，把土面刨成毛面，重復上述步驟進行二層及第三層的擊實，擊實后超出擊實筒的余土高度不得大于6mm。
★用修土刀沿套環內壁削挖后，扭動并取下套環，齊筒頂細心削平試樣，拆除底板，如試樣底面超出筒外亦應削平。擦凈筒外壁，稱質量，準確至1g。
★用推土器推出擊實筒內試樣，從試樣中處取2個各約15～20g土測定其含水量。計算至0.1%，其平行誤差不得超過1%

★ After c*ting along the inner wall of the collar with a ripper, twist and remove the collar, carefully flatten the specimen with the top of the cylinder, and remove the bottom plate. If the bottom of the specimen exceeds the cylinder, it should be flattened. Wipe the outer wall of the cylinder and weigh it to the nearest 1g.
★ Use the bulldozer to push out the sample in the compaction cylinder, and take about 15-20g soil from the center of the sample to measure the water content. Calculated to 0.1%, the parallel error must not exceed 1%
四、計算與制圖說明.
手動輕型和手動重型擊實儀計算方法相同。
★按下式計算擊實后各點的干質量密度
（計算至0.01g/cm）.
式中pd——干質量密度（g/m）
po——濕質量密度（g/m）
w1——含水量（%）。
★以干質量密度為縱座標，含水量為橫座標，繪制干質量密度與含水量的關系曲線，曲線上峰值點的縱、橫座標分別表示土的A大質量干密度和A優含水量。
